In this tutorial series we will look at special effects that you can create with JavaScript including rollovers, menus, filters and transitions. You can find the files needed for this tutorial here.
In the last part of the series we created an animated opening screen for our web page. The animation was optimized for a 640x480 screen resolution but what will happen to our animation when viewed on screen resolutions? As the screen sizes become larger, the images and text move towards the upper left part of the screen. We will use DOM properties to determine the screen resolution and use that to determine the positioning of our images and text.

In this part of the tutorial, we will use those functions to animate our web page. Many of these functions could be replicated with css but this will give us a chance to test the JavaScript functions that we created.
